Hi-temp Flux Blog

Why is a high-temperature flux required when brazing with some alloys? Certain materials, such as tungsten carbides, cast irons, steel, stainless steels, plus nickel-based and heat-resistant alloys, require a brazing approach geared to high temperatures. Together, high-temperature fluxes and braze filler metals produce strong joints that prove robust for mining or construction applications. How do you choose the correct flux and filler metal? Join today’s discussion to learn more!

Stop-Off Blog

Stop-Off: Controlling the Flow of Alloy In brazing, we focus much importance on cleaning parts to remove oils, dirt, and oxides. This is because braze alloy will not flow over areas not properly cleaned, and the quality of the braze joint will be compromised. BUT, what about situations where you DO NOT want alloy to flow or bond? Because of aesthetics, tolerances, or subsequent assembly steps, you sometimes need the flow of braze alloy to be contained or redirected—to STOP flowing or to stay OFF a surface. Examples include precise designs involving threads or holes. Read on for a discussion about the unique product called Stop-Off.
