The Materials Manager is responsible for inventory control, establishing appropriate inventory levels with consideration for demand (managing Kanban’s and the PFEP program), re-supply and/or delivery and storage capacities. Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of five (5) years prior management experience. A strong manufacturing background and knowledge of the metals and/or the Brazing industry is preferred. A proven track record of being able to build relationships and think creatively while effectively managing day-to-day tasks is essential.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of Lean and Participation in Kaizen events to achieve operational excellence in line with Handy and Harmon Business Systems.
- Conduct Excess & Obsolesance (E&O) analysis, review and provide recommendations on demand / inventory trends through statistical analysis.
- Measure inventory turns and provide recommendations and actions to improve.
- Management of PFEP process including internal and external Kanbans.
- Manage cross-functional projects related to improved flow and inventory management.
- Manage our Physical Inventory and Cycle Count programs Control stock levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to minimize total inventory levels while still meeting orders, production schedules, forecasts and shareholder/customer delivery requirements.
- Manage Shipping and Receiving employees and functions.
